Cooperative University
Dairy Students (CUDS) is a group of students who collectively manage a
dairy herd operation that maintains a herd of up to 35 lactating cows
35 replacement calves, heifers and dry cows. Each member is in charge
of an aspect of herd management including: president, calves, heifers,
dry cows, cow comfort, finances, herd health, milk quality, records,
drugs and supplies, public relations, marketing, nutrition, secretary
and website maintenance.
CUDS is a cooperative
organization run at the WSU Knott Dairy Center.
All members work together to make business decisions involving the herd
and the CUDS program is intended to provide participating students
